Obituary of Robert Cruz

Robert “Bob” Cruz, 64, died suddenly on September 7, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Bob was married for almost 43 years to the love of his life, Chris. They have one son, Adam. Bob worked for 30 years in the beer industry as a driver/salesman and retired in 2010. After retirement Bob’s favorite pastimes were fishing, doing home rehab and refurbishing and he loved concerts and everything about music, especially rock ‘n roll. He and Chris loved to travel and one of their favorite places to visit was Negril, Jamaica. They were also fortunate to travel to Australia to visit Bob’s sister, Margaret. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, a brother and a nephew. Bob is survived by his wife, Christine Cruz (Chartrand), son, Adam, sisters Maria Loza (Serafin) and Margaret Cruz, brothers Paul (Corrie) Cruz and David Cruz, nephews Tony, Tom and Justin and nieces Paula, Stevie, Kelsey and Ashley. Bob loved people and loved life. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, September 12 at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, IL from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Donations to the family would be appreciated.
