Obituary of Nathaniel Ryan Lang
Nathaniel Ryan Lang of Zion Illinois, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on July 25, 2016, just three weeks away from his 21st birthday. Nate was a beautiful guitar player, a talented dancer and had a creative mind. He was born in Texas and lived several places with his parents before settling in Zion. He graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 2014, and was a skilled junior auto mechanic as well as being an active member of New Song Ministries Church in Zion.
He is survived by his mother and father Margo and Jeffrey Smeland, as well as his four grandparents Warren and Judy Fellingham and Lorne and Shirley Smeland. Beloved older brother of Matthew Smeland and nephew of Sharon and Warren Fellingham III, Vicki Fellingham and Mike Trehearne, Jordan and Jolie Smeland, Lauren Smeland, Jayson Miles, Nikki Murray and Terry Eaton. He is also survived by cousins, Jasper, Warren, Hunter, Decker,Taylor, Luke, Arianna, Alex and Emma who loved his happy attitude and willingness to get down on the floor and play with them. Nate will be greatly missed as the most colorful spot in all of our lives.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please direct any donations to PADS of Lake County, www.padslakecounty.org.
