My condolences to everyone. Charles was my father-in-law. If taught my girls and myself much. If was a preacher, a teacher and much more. I was proud to share with him our life. Proud when we gave him his 8oth birthday bash for all. Standing room only at the end
he did not know that I was a SPCFM. It is not an easy life but for a time we had a family. Miss him. Teri Werda Monahan

Dear Hofflander Family,
I feel your grief deeply over the passing of your husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. He was a very dear man, a gentleman, a man after God's own heart. I am happy to know that he and my father are enjoying each other's company in Heaven, thanks to God's grace. Mr. Hofflander was instrumental in helping me and my sons grow in faith, especially through his encouragement to have us attend Pilgrim Camp for several years. He also blessed me with the power of the Holy Spirit one day when we were praying together at camp. I will always remember him fondly and be grateful for knowing him. I only wish I could have visited him once more with my dog, a border collie named Blue, who Mr. Hofflander always said reminded him of the dog he had as a boy.
Love in Christ,
~Alicia Gern

Dear Marie and family,
Please accept my sincere condolences on Charles's home-going. He truly was a blessing in my life - more than you may know! Thanks to his encouragement, I enrolled in Wheaton College. I also remember spending time in various youth functions at Full Gospel Tabernacle which Charles guided. One summer I had the opportunity to assist with/learn lawn maintenance working in Lake Forest at various estates which Charles maintained. (He exhibited much patience with me.) :-) More recently, I recall his encouragement as I considered entering the field of chaplaincy. I am confident Charles has now heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Although I have not had recent contact, I have thought of him often. He will be missed.
Until the New Horizon,
Dennis Teigland

My heart is saddened for the family left behind. Such a void will be left - but we know that Jesus Christ will return for his saints soon and of course Pastor/Husband/Father/Grandfather/Friend will be among the first that will go up to meet Jesus in the air. What an amazing life that Charles and Marie lived. As a teenager I remember them so well. I loved and admired them. To my dear Marie - what a wonderful wife you have been. I know if Charles could speak back from Glory that he would thank you. I will keep the entire family of Pastor Charles in prayer for strength in days to come.
With Love and Admiration

My deepest condolences to the family and many great friends of Rev. Hofflander. I only met him a few times and he was very good to me. I know him mostly through the stories and recollections of my brother in law Peter Petruska, nieces Carolyn Bellmore and Grace Petruska, and nephew Mark Petruska. Again, my deepest condolences to all. Jim Gilbert

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Hoflanfer was rare, the kind of teacher that made kids excited about learning. He was my favorite teacher and I have fond memories of being in his class. Again my condolences to his family and friends.

I didn't have him as a teacher at Spaulding, but even still I knew him to be a very kind and gentleman. I'm happy to read of his life outside of teaching, and to know that God blessed him with a long life, and a marriage that lasted his lifetime. My sincere condolences to his family. May God grant you all strength.
