Obituary of Gayle H. Snyder Sr.

Gayle H. Snyder Sr., 96, of Waukegan, IL died June 15, 2016 at Rolling Hills Place in Zion, IL. Gayle was born October 28, 1919 in Bruno, MN, and married Julia Elizabeth Carberry on November 1, 1941 in North Chicago, IL. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Gayle will always be remembered for his gentle spirit and sweet smile. Survivors include his children, Ardis Harris of New Albany, IN and Donna (Victor) Geib of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren, Dawn Swanson, Scott Swanson, Victor Bryan (Tina) Geib, Rebecca (Todd) Lindley, and Rachel Geib (Brian Popp); 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; son, Gayle Jr.; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; parents, Charles Peter and Dora Snyder; grandson Ryan Geib; and son-in-law, Les Harris. In accordance with Gayle’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. The family wishes to thank the staff at Rolling Hills Place for their loving care while Gayle resided there.
