Obituary of Brenda Kay Prater

Brenda Kay Prater, 59, of Zion, IL died May 16, 2016 at home her home in Zion. Brenda was born November 22, 1956 in Waukegan. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, IL. She recently began enjoying scooters and motor bikes. Survivors include her children, Laura (Justin Zickovich) Prater and Tammy (Robert) Witherspoon both of Zion, IL and Billy Prater and Bruce Prater both of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Justin T. Zickovich, Devin Coofer, Trayvon Witherspoon, Aubree Zickovich, Riley Zickovich, and Peyton Zickovich; brother Robbie Proctor; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Tom Prater; her parents, Daniel Proctor and Alma Hickman; step-father, Jerry Hickman; and siblings, Jack Proctor and Carrie Hyndman. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 3001 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor, IL, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Major Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family have been suggested.
