Obituary of Andrew D. Willis

Andrew D. Willis, 89, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Monday, May 23, 2016 at The Grove At The Lake Nursing Home in Zion. He was born April 21, 1927 in Highland Park, IL and moved to Winthrop Harbor 62 years ago in 1953. He served in Germany with the United States Army during W.W.II. Andrew retired from Local #150 as an Engineer. He enjoyed bowling, ice fishing, and all animals especially feeding the birds. Survivors include his two children Sandra D. Green of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Gary T. (Linda) Willis of Zion, IL; three grandchildren Sara E. Green, Kimberly Willis, and Craig (Nadine) Willis; five great-grandchildren Andrew, William, Ana, Sophia, and Dale; one brother Lawrence (and the late Beverly) Willis of Pleasant Prairie, WI; his favorite K-9 companion “Ollie”; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion B. Willis in 1989; eleven brothers and sisters; and his parents. Services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association have been suggested.
