Obituary of Christine M. Stockton

Christine M. Stockton, 79, of Gurnee, IL, formerly of Beach Park and Waukegan, died on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Christine was born October 11, 1936, in Chicago, IL, and moved to Waukegan in 1976. She was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. Christine ran a foster care program and daycare out of her home with many children over the years. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking Italian food, playing cards, and traveling in the camper with her late husband. Survivors include a sister, Mary Defyn; brother, Joe (Ann) Gagliardo; many nieces and nephews, including, Bob (Donna) Defyn, Joe Gagliardo, John (Ella) Gagliardo, Cathy Bruner, and Thomas Defyn; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Stockton Jr.; son, Richard Stockton III; father and mother, Albert and Catherine Gagliardo; sister-in-law, Lauretta Andrews; and niece, Sharyll Gagliardo. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
