Obituary of Dan Dutton

Dan Dutton, 82, of Kenosha, WI, formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away on November 27, 2015, at Azura Memory Care in Kenosha, surrounded by his family. Dan was born December 26, 1932, in Kenosha, WI, and married Mearle Pontillo on May 3, 1952 in Zion, IL. He retired from BFI after many years of employment and formerly owned Dutton Builders in Winthrop Harbor. Dan was a past President of the Winthrop Harbor Lions Club. He was a master woodworker, craftsman and had a particular gift for designing and building clocks by hand. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Mearle; sons, Paul (Liz) Dutton of Kenosha, WI, Gary (Jennifer) Dutton of Humbird, WI, and Mark (Vicki) Dutton of Pleasant Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Dana (Steve) Hollister, Lyndsay (Blake) Nahf, Whitney (Matthew) Weber, Joshua (Jamie) Dutton, Jacob (Sarah) Dutton, Ashley Dutton and Courtney Dutton; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Dutton of Waukegan, IL and Bob Dutton of Waukegan, IL. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; dear family friends, Danny Booth and Paul Seday and other family. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Harriett Dutton; and by 2 sisters and 8 brothers. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan. Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
