Death separates “the spirit and the body [which] are the soul of man.” (D&C 88:15.)
Life does not begin with birth, nor does it end with death. Prior to our birth, we dwelled as spirit children with our Father in Heaven. There we eagerly anticipated the possibility of coming to earth and obtaining a physical body. Knowingly we wanted the risks of mortality, which would allow the exercise of agency and accountability. “This life [was to become] a probationary state; a time to prepare to meet God.” (Alma 12:24.) But we regarded the returning home as the best part of that long-awaited trip, just as we do now. Returning from earth to life in our heavenly home requires passage through—and not around—the doors of death. We were born to die, and we die to live. (See 2 Cor. 6:9.) As seedlings of God, we barely blossom on earth; we fully flower in heaven. Blessings unto you Dennis, that you may thrive in the here-after as provided for by our Heavenly Father.

Betty, so sorry for all you and Dennis have been through these last few years but we have a lot of good memories of Christmas's and Thanksgiving's at Mom and Dad's. Some of our fondest memories are of us camping up north with you and Dennis and Dorothy and Lee during a rain storm and trying to make pancakes in the rain and fishing at Crystal Lake near Sauk, We never did catch anything big but Dennis always remembered the picture we took of him and his "big" fish! I hope the good memories will help you through this. Dennis is at peace and no longer in pain! Love you!

Betty,
I was so sad to hear of Dennis' passing. He was a wonderful man and a great friend to my mom. We always loved seeing both of you at church. May Gods love be a comfort to you and bring you peace.
