Obituary of Danny Franks
Danny Franks, 60, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and formerly of Kingwood, TX, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Danny was born April 8, 1952, in Waukegan, IL, and married Barbara Houghton on August 8, 1983, in Fort Worth, TX. He served with the United States Army in Viet Nam. Danny began his working career in automobile sales and then worked as an admissions counselor for Universal Technical Institute in Houston, TX. He was a caring, giving, and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Barbara; children, Danel Franks of Kenosha, WI, Cindy (Dale) Houghton of Paddock Lake, WI, Bob (Amber) Houghton of Kenosha, WI, and Debra Giambuzzi of San Diego, CA; mother, Louise Hunter of Winthrop Harbor, IL; brother, Randy (Alicia) Franks of Winthrop Harbor, IL; and nieces Katie and Ali Franks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Franks; son, Chris; sister, Debbie Franks; and step-father, Dave Hunter.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Michael Brown of the First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
