Obituary of Roy E. Wilson

Roy E. Wilson Jr., 66, of Zion, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Journey Care, Barrington, IL. Roy was born May 25, 1949, in Highland Park, IL, and was a graduate of Waukegan High School. He married Kathleen Dugan on February 14, 1976, in Gurnee, IL. Roy had previously worked for Johnson Motors, Abbott Laboratories, and Quill Corporation. He served with the United States Army in Vietnam. Roy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to fish. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Kathleen; children, Jennifer (Michael) Brotten of Temecula, CA, Roy Wilson III of Chicago, IL, and Rebekah (Joseph) Zemke of Gurnee, IL; grandchild, Madison Zemke; mother, Edna Wilson of Elizabeth, IL; sisters, Maxine Buchholtz of Grand Junction, CO, and Pauline Curtiss of Apple River, IL; many nieces and nephews, and other family. Also surviving is his best friend, Jerry Diggs. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Wilson Sr. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeland Evangelical Free Church, 440 N. Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee, IL.. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
