Obituary of Edith E. Ruth

Edith E. Ruth, 71, of Winthrop Harbor, IL went to be with her Lord June 12, 2015. She was born October 18th, 1943 to Harry and Elena (Cunliffe-Owen) Davis. She graduated Zion-Benton Township High School in 1961. For 30 years of her career she worked as a beautician, and later worked as a receptionist at Abbott Laboratories and Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire, IL. Edie loved working in her yard and also enjoyed knitting, sewing, and gardening. She had a very strong faith from an early age and was a member of the CrossWay Community Church in Bristol, WI. Edie participated in the Christmas Choir for several years at the MeadowRidge Baptist Church in Zion, IL. Edie had a wonderful group of long-time friends that she loved and appreciated in addition to her brothers and sisters. Edie leaves behind her three children: Tracie (John) Madden of Schaumburg, IL, Dan (Becky) Ruth of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Clint (Jennifer) Ruth of Phoenix, AZ; dear grandchildren Christie (Daniel) Wallace of Tucson, AZ, Carlie Richards of Mesa, AZ, and Audrey and Lindsay Ruth of Pleasant Prairie, WI. She loved her family immensely and it meant everything to her. Also surviving are her siblings, Marciel (Roy) Toomay of Garden Grove, CA, James (Betty) Davis of Winthrop Harbor, Mary Weil of Russell, Ellen (Stan) Schmidt of Beach Park, Rachel Yarbrough of Winthrop Harbor, and Carol (George) Weber of Beach Park. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Marie Miller, Harry Davis, Dorothy Davis, Paul Davis, Phyllis Stonick, Iris Dries, Carl Butz, Barbara Fieberg, Joseph Davis and Phillip Davis. A visitation will be held on Monday June 22, from 4-8 p.m. at CrossWay Community Church, 13905-75th Street Bristol, WI. Funeral services also be held at the church Tuesday June 23, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL, with a luncheon held immediately afterwards at the MeadowRidge Baptist Church, 4500 –Rte 173 Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Edie’s name to: CrossWay Community Church and/or MeadowRidge Baptist Church Ministries.
