Dear family of Mike Russell, although I realize that it has been several years since Mike's passing, I was thinking about him today and how much he helped my husband and me during some very rough times. He let us back to Christ and introduced us to profound Christian writings. I will forever be grateful for his life and the Bibles that he gave to my husband, who is now an eastern orthodox priest, and for helping us find the deeper path to Christ. I just now found out that Mike passed in 2015. We were in communication for many years and we somehow lost contact with him. May you all be blessed in his memory and in the hope of seeing him in future glory.

Just received word by email that Mike had passed away. What a shock to hear the news. Mike and I became friends in our Senior year of high school in New Jersey and then bonded more closely in College. Military took him away but we reconnected for a time a couple of decades ago. However, with my living in Iowa and Mike in Illinois we were seldom able to connect. I have always held Mike in the highest regard as to moral and ethical chanracter. He was a true believer and I look forward to seeing him again in heaven. My only wish is that we wouldhave lived closer so that we would have been able to see one another more frequently. Mike was an important part of my spiritual journey.
My deepest condolences to Mike's extended family and loved ones. I wish I could have been there today,
Cal Swan

A faithful servant of the Lord and a faithful friend to many, including me. His friendship was a conduit of God's unconditional love. Mike ran the race well. In his life and in his passing he shepherds us to Heaven. Thank you, Lord, for giving us Mike. Thank you that he will be the first to welcome us home!
Mike Russell lived this passage and inspired us to do the same. Maranatha!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-24
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

So sorry to hear of Michael's passing.. But we know that he has gone on to meet Jesus his Lord, whom he loved dearly.
Norman and I met Michael in the "Judd Faith Home." Mary Beitel and Martha (Beitel) Weldon took us to Zion. We came to visit every year there for a while. Mary Elizabeth Judd was our teacher and very dear friend. And that is where we met Michael, who also was a very dear friend. We send our love and prayers to all the family.
With much love

My condolences to you all...
Mike was an outstanding man, and one I considered as a big brother to me during my teen years.
I remember games of Hearts and Back Alley Bridge at the Lincoln house.
I remember during my senior year at Wheaton Christian, Mike running out to the high school with me for a few mornings during track season.
Most of all, I remember someone who helped care for the rest of the family when your dad died in 1974.
Condolences on your loss,
Mark Irving

My thoughts and prayers are with Eileen and all the kids at this time. It was a privilege to know Mike, and I always enjoyed our conversations at family get-togethers. I'm saddened to know how much his illness made him suffer, but so gratified to know he's free now and with the Lord. What a blessing it is to have such a large extended family of such kind and faithful people. God bless.
Love, Jill

Michael had such a sweet and gentle soul.
That's partly what made his sardonic humor work - delivered with a sly smile and a twinkle in his eye!
He was a main player in my childhood. His birthday being one day before mine we would have a joint party in those early childhood days.
As Michael got interested in our family history, we all benefited from his tireless research and road trips. Mom and I went along on a family gravesite whirlwind tour which Michael titled - no stone left unturned!
We all enjoyed his Christmas letters over these last few years which revealed his deep devotion to The Lord
Love you Michael - see you later!
Your loving cousin, Amy
