He was a big teddy bear who loved life and loved people. He went on many charity bike runs and had a soft spot for kids that were in need. If he could help someone, he would. He never expected anything in return, he was just happy to do it because it made him feel good. I don't know how we will cope with losing our dad but it does help to hear and read about how much he touched other people's lives as well as ours. We are still in the planning stages of having a gathering to celebrate his life and will reach out to everyone once that is finalized. He always said he didn’t want everyone to be sad but rather have a good time and share great stories and smile when we think of him. Of course that won’t be difficult as he always made people smile.

To all who have known and loved our dad,
To so many our Dad was a loyal friend and a hard working man; he was loved, admired and respected. To us, he was our rock, our foundation, our everything. He was our soft place to land. The person we went to for honest advice. He never sugar-coated anything and you always knew where you stood with him. That was one of the things we, as well as many others, loved about him. If he loved you, he loved you BIG...if he didn't like you, you knew it and he didn't have any qualms about telling you why. Each one of us girls moved back in with my dad at one point or another as young adults. He never hesitated; his door was alway open to us and his love was unconditional. He opened up his home to many friends that needed a place to stay too. That's just how our dad was - generous and kind hearted.

So very sorry that Floyd has passed away. --
Thank you to whomever uploaded the picture of Floyd. I was truly looking forward to buying him another beer or two and catching him at a time when we could share them over a pizza, now I’ll have to wait till I meet up with him in heaven. I pray that all who mourn the loss of Floyd will be comforted by the love of God, and may His peace cover you as we all look forward to once again meeting our dear friends and love ones who have gone before us. I’m sure Floyd is smiling with his hair blowing back by the winds of heaven as he flies through the skies with the wings of angles.
Kindest Regards,
RICHARD FETINGIS

So very sorry that Floyd has passed away. Did I say Floyd was a hard worker? Several times I seen him just covered with dirt and grease and was very focused and intense on those occasions. One time I was so taken aback that I said “Hi Floyd, wow, your filthy man! Where the heck have you been?” and his whole demeanor changed to an intense but his usual smiling, friendly and kind hearted self. “Underneath a clave fixing a pipe” he said with a kind of Santa Clause glimmer in his eyes and a bit of pride in knowing that he was probably the only person in the entire company that would do what he was doing to get that machine ready to work again. It seemed Floyd was on a mission, like the Starship Enterprise and would go where no man had ever gone before, and he took on most of those missions by himself – He seemed to prefer working alone, a lone trouper, reliable, conscientious, dependable, selfless and a man that embodied the ‘just get er done’ attitude. Floyd was impressive extraordinary.

So very sorry that Floyd has passed away.
Floyd was one of the few people in my life I liked enough to just say ‘hey Floyd, one day I’m gonna buy you a couple of beers’. I must have promised that at least 5 or 10 times over the years and about 2 years ago I had that opportunity. I stopped at Uncle Mikes to get one of their ‘homemade’ pizzas with extra sauce and lots of garlic and of all things Floyd was there! I bought him a beer and met one of his daughters that day! He had something he had to do so we didn’t get to talk but it was great to see him someplace other than work.

So very sorry that Floyd has passed away. I worked with Floyd on a few occasions over the many years we worked at Abbott and then Hospira. Mostly I would see Floyd in the hallway or wherever and we’d say Hi. I always admired Floyd and respected him for the hard working (and nice) guy that he was.
On several occasions I had seen him on his Harley driving down Sheridan Road. On the way out after work I would stop to check out his bike parked in the lot when he rode it into work. On one rare moment in time I spotted him with a pretty woman on back of that bike and then next time I saw him at work I mentioned this and he said that it was his daughter.
