Obituary of Cathy S. Lyon

Cathy S. Lyon, 66, of Zion, IL died on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan. She was born August 19, 1948 in Red Bay, AL and has lived in Zion all of her life. She was a member of New Song Ministries of Zion. Cathy worked as a Teachers Assistant and Librarian at Shiloh Park School in Zion, retiring in 2009. Survivors include her husband of 46 years Jim; children James Lyon Jr. of Chicago, IL, Monica (Nathan) Henke of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Michael Lyon of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren C.J. Henke and Alyssa Henke; one sister Wanda (Larry) Koenders of Gurdon, AR; one brother Justin (Star) Strickland of Zion, IL; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Nolyer Strickland. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at New Song Ministries, 3014 - 31st Street, Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15th, at 10:00 a.m. at New Song Ministries with Pastor David Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
