Obituary of Joan Albers

Joan Albers (nee Crawford), 85, of Wadsworth, IL, died on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home, Zion. She was born August 12, 1929 in Waukegan, IL. She was a graduate of Antioch High School and on March 20, 1948 she married the late Bartlett Albers. Joan worked as a waitress/hostess in the area and homemaker after retirement. Survivors include her son Michael (Dana) Albers; grandchildren Jennifer Dunn, Tracy Ames, Jefferey Ames, Merrill (Cole) Busch, and Michael Albers Jr.; five great-grandchildren; one brother John Crawford; and several sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bartlett in 2003; daughters Linda Sue Crowe and Sandra Lee Ames; parents Martin and Lois Belle Crawford; sister Joyce Smith; and brother Jim Crawford. Visitation will be Friday, May 15, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, and again on Saturday, May 16th, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Millburn Cemetery, Millburn, IL. Memorial donations to Newport Fire Fighters Association, 39010 Caroline Street, Wadsworth, IL 60083 have been suggested.
