Obituary of Jean Emilie Chase

Jean Emilie Chase, 96, of Zion, IL, passed away on March 15, 2015. Jean was born November 16, 1918 in Cleveland, OH. She grew up in Cleveland, moved to Zion after her husband returned from WWII where she lived until moving to Brooksville, Florida after retirement. Jean married Edgar Chase on March 28, 1942 in San Diego, California. She was employed for the Zion Park District and Field’s Sportswear of Zion. Jean was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion, she was a member of the Eastern Star, and served as a Fire Belle for the volunteer fire department of Zion. Ed and Jean were avid square dancers both in Zion and Brooksville, FL. They also golfed and enjoyed activities with the retired submarine veterans of WWII of which Ed became the south east regional president. Jean was always a supportive wife and has now happily joined Ed once again, in Glory. Jean is survived by her son Wayne (Barbara) Chase of Sun City West, AZ; grandchildren Michelle (PJ) Flattery, and Melissa (Craig) Dowling; and one great-granddaughter Cassidy Flattery. Jean also has a sister in Cleveland, OH, Bernadine Harvey. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar; and her parents Joseph and Emilie Koske. Services will be private for the family.
