Obituary of Susan E. Walters

Susan E. Walters, 64, of Zion, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1950, in Waukegan, IL. Sue was a loving wife, mother, sister and devoted daughter. She loved animals, camping, fishing, golfing and spending time with her granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. In addition, she was a dedicated nurse for forty-two years. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Arvin; daughters Kim (Jeff) Geary of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Kellie Walters of Chicago; father Lyle Ianson of Zion, IL; brothers and sisters Russell (Laurie) Ianson of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Steven (Jackie) Ianson of Lake Villa, IL, Ruth (Jeff) Dykiel of Antioch; sisters-in-law, Donna Ianson of Beach Park, IL, and Cheryl Kee of Ohio; grand daughter, Sydney Geary of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and multiple nieces and nephews. Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ianson; brothers, Kenneth Ianson and Joseph Ianson; and grandparents. Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the ALS Foundation.
