I just found out today that Marty passed away. I was definitely shocked and a little upset that I found out so late. I would of liked to have attended the services. Marty was one of the hardest working guys I had ever met. I had the pleasure of working alongside with him at Abbott. He was grumpy at times but we always managed to joke around enough to cheer him up. I still remember seeing him in the cafeteria in the morning eating the biggest bowl of oatmeal I had ever seen! You will definitely be missed Marty Mar!!

Your father was my supervisor for many years at the Waukegan Post Office. I just wanted to tell you that he was a great supervisor. He was always fair, and really listened when there was a problem, and then we'd try to figure out how to make it better. It's not very often you get a boss like him. He cared about his employees. Rest In Peace, Marty. Becky

Peyton man dad this man it was hard. So I told her that you were gone and she seemed ok. Then she saw your phone one night. She looks at it all bright eyed and screams in joy (PAPPA'S PHONE)I Said yes baby Pappa's Phone. She then said Pappa needs his phone. I said baby Pappa can't use is phone in haven baby. She then turned and looked at me with those BIG blue eyes full of tears and said (PAPPA NO CALL ME ANYMORE) I said baby he can't. She gabbed the phone out of my hand and ran behind tha couch and just cried for about a half an hour. You will always be her first true friend. Dad all I can say is the impact you have had on our lives will never be forgotten and is somthing I am proud to tell everyone. I was lucky to have you as a father and I love you.

Johnnie and family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss and I know you will miss your Dad greatly. He was always talking about you and some adventure you had taken. One of his favorites was ice fishing together. His years of service to the U S Postal Service is greatly appreciated. Donna Krug

Marty, I will miss you. May you rest in peace. Marty worked hard to provide for his family and was an avid sport and fishing fan. When Martin was younger, he was on a local park district baseball and gymnastics team. One day Marty and I decided to race each other home from the local park. He was on his bike and I was running. His bike hit a bump and he accidentally ran over my right ankle. It was swollen but not broken. I continually teased him that I would have won if he had not hit that bump and ran over my ankle. Marty, Hope it is easy riding for you now and I know you will be watching and cheering on "DA BEARS". Love, your sister, Alice

Marty my tears can't stop flowing as I miss you so much but take comfort in that you were near your three grandchildren who were your joy. The many phone calls you and I shared were jewels of time that I will remember and am in sorrow that I will no longer hear your voice and finally your closing comment 'hey I love you'. Thank you for the memories of things we did together and all the laughs. You know so much about sports I even enjoyed listening to you about all of them. A generous heart and a great cook too. I was proud of your hard work that ended in promotion to postmaster. Wish I had the power to help stop your pain. Mom and Dad and so many must be so joyful to see you again. May the peace and happiness you always fully deserved be yours. You were a gem of a Dad and Grandpa and now you can watch over your 3 earth-angels with a calm and joyful spirit. Never saw you enough so call me soon, Bro. I love you too. Ceal
