Obituary of Ilene Janis Henry

Ilene Janis Henry nee Gillman 73 passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on January 17th, 2015, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born May 21st, 1941 in Middletown, OH. She married the love of her life, Jim Henry, on July 17th, 1967 and devoted her life to her family. Ilene was an avid gardener and loved flowers! She is survived by her husband; Jim Henry, 4 daughters; Anita Oliver, Theresa Weger, Pamela (Charles) Luplow, and Angela Ohm, 1 step-son; Don Henry, 11 grandchildren; Andrea (Arthur) Holt-Batalia, Julie Oliver, Jessica, William, and Melissa Weger, Katie, Charles, Erik, and Daniel Luplow, Joseph and Laura Ilene Ohm, 14 step-grandchildren; Jim (Amanda), Jason (Amanda), George (Annie), Lloyd (Jessica), Emmett (Hannah), Sherman, Carriebeth, Jerry (Audrey), Noah, September, Jesse, Franklin, and Malachi Henry, and Delaine (Joseph) Albert, 7 great-grandchildren; Tyler, Brayleigh, and Henry Holt-Batalia, Chloe Magnuson, Erik Luplow Jr., Mason and Marleigh Ohm, 22 step-great-grandchildren, 4 sisters; Phoebe (Ray) Moses, Ethel Townsend, Virginia Owens, and Kathie (John) Schweikart, countless nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved dog, Rosie. She was preceded in death by her parents; Lon Gillman and Lamberta Domingo, her brother and sister-in-law Lon (Joyce) Gillman, her brother-in-law Wayne Townsend, her step-daughter-in-law Carol Henry, 1 great-granddaughter Chelsea Weger, and many beloved pets. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 20th, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Bycroft officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville.
