Obituary of George T Mink

George T Mink, 82, of Zion, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at home. George was born February 17, 1932, in Golden, Mississippi. He married Elois Renfroe on August 18,1956, in Fulton, MS. George belonged to the UAW and retired from Chrysler Motors in Kenosha after 42 years of work. He formerly belonged to the Zion Moose #667. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Oatsvall of Camden, TN; son, Randy (June) Mink of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandchildren, Angela (Cory) Gibbons and Lesley Mink; great-grandson, Dylan Gibbons; sisters, Vernell Johnson of Golden, MS, Hazel Stephens of Fulton, MS, and Lorece White of Mantachie, MS; sister-in-law, Shirley Mink of Zion, IL; good friend and long-time care giver, Sofia Covaciu; many nieces and nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida Mink; brothers, Charles and Arlis Mink; sister, Oneice Daily; and three brothers-in-law. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m, at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at 10:00 a.m at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
