Obituary of Edcur Hamlet

Edcur Hamlet, Age 74, of Zion, IL, died on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. He was born September 15, 1936 in Marianna, AR and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the United States Marines. He was employed at James Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, retiring after 43 years of service. Survivors include his wife Ada; children Ronnie Ivy of San Diego, CA, Veronica (James) Robinson of Waukegan, IL, Courtney Hamlet of Zion, IL, and Weynoka (Eric) Hamlet-Johnson of Zion, IL; step-children Joseph Hartwell of Zion, IL, Helean McGee of Wando, SC, Bridget (Anthony) Davis of Zion, IL, and Norma (Doel) Echevarria of Beach Park, IL; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Doris Porcher Hamlet of Zion, IL. He was preceded in death by his son Edcur Hamlet Jr.; one brother Robert Hamlet; and his parents Joseph and Larean Hamlet. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 1727 27th Street, Zion, IL.
