Obituary of Barbara Gunter

Barbara S. Gunter, 64, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Barbara was born October 29, 1946 in Marietta, MS and had lived in Zion most of her life. She was previously employed as a sales rep in Zion for Maki Home Builders. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, James; three children Kimberley (Jeff) McIntyre of Gilberts, IL, Kevin (Lori) Gunter of Antioch, IL, and Kara Gunter of Winthrop Harbor, IL; ten grandchildren Kevin Jr., Truvell, Travis, Trevor, Nikalous, Tyler, Milo, Kelsey, Owen, and Delany; and siblings Freda (Greg) Schaefer of Jacksonville, FL, Jim (Lynette) Taylor of Zion, IL, Jerry (Martha) Taylor of Huntsville, AL, and Larry (Gayle) Taylor of New Market, AL. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Prentiss and Eula Taylor. Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Michael Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
