Obituary of Jesse Butler
Jesse Butler, 87 of Kenosha, WI and formerly a long time resident of Zion, died on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha.
Mr. Butler was born on February 9, 1924 in Paden, MS. Jesse married Marion Ophus on October 16, 1945 in Sexsmith, Alberta, Canada. He was an active member in the Lions Club and was a Mason. He served in the United States Army in WWII. Jesse and his wife co-owned Butler Electric Motor Repair in Zion. Jesse was a big fan of his grandchildren and adored his family. Jesse enjoyed bowling, golfing, and working. He was a very generous man and touched many hearts.
Survivors include two of his five children Janice (Dan) Pye of Zion and Sandy Butler of Kenosha; thirteen grandchildren Michael, Tracy, Jim, Jason, Tim, Jeremy, D'Arcy, Patrick, Lisa, Jesse, Joshua, Rebecca, and Christopher; eighteen great-grandchildren, Brittnee, Ryan, Destiny, Dylan, Kyle, Dakota, Mercedes, Dayton, Samantha, Jocelyn, Aidan, Joey, Nicky, Aurora, Erin, Sophia, Patrick, and Cameron.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marion; two sons William and Edward Butler; and one daughter Lynn Demiglio.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association have been suggested.
