Obituary of Betty Reynolds

Betty Lee Reynolds, 88, of Beach Park, IL, died on July 2, 2011. Betty was born July 26, 1922 to Hardy and Maude (Swan) Walker and grew up around Carterville, IL. She married Johnnie L. Reynolds from Herrin, IL on July 3, 1940 and spent her lifetime with him. They resided in Beach Park since 1954 where they raised three sons. Betty spent her working career at Warwick in Zion where she assisted in the assembly of televisions and then as a nurse's assistant at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Lake County Homemakers Club for many years. Survivors include her husband Johnnie; three sons John W. (Nancy) Reynolds of Beach Park, IL; Ray E. (Cathy) Reynolds of Davenport, FL; Greg L. (Rhonda) Reynolds of Elburn, IL, 8 grandchildren, as well as 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was always there for her family and will be missed. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a brother George W. Walker; and sisters Ruby Walker Evans and Zella Mae Evans. Congdon Funeral Home will handle the cremation without any services presently scheduled. Private interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery and Mausoleum.
