Obituary of Darlene Grant

Darlene Grant, 75, of Zion, IL died on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Darlene was born August 20, 1935 in Peoria, IL and moved to Zion in 1968. She retired in 1999 from NOSCO after 30 years. Darlene loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was an animal lover. Survivors include her children Deborah Hughes of Zion, IL, Cynthia Pruski of Beach Park, IL, and Michael (Robin) Kochanski of Silverdale, Washington; eight grandchildren Lisa (Julian), Erica, Michael, Brian, Timothy (Fanny), Brad, Brittany (John), and Stephanie; and eight great-grandchildren Michaela, Paige, Mackenzie, Ariel, Anthony, Lily, Rachel, and Jayden. She was preceded in death by one son Kenneth Grant; one daughter Cheryl Ann Grant; two sisters Eleanor Heddes, and Lorraine Heddes; two brothers John Heddes and Al Heddes; and her parents Leo and Irene Heddes. Services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals have been suggested. Donations can be given at ASPCA.org.
