Obituary of Audrey Wiedner

Audrey Mae Wiedner, 78, of Zion, IL, died on Friday, June 10, 2011, at home in Zion. Audrey was born July 7, 1932, in Rock Island, IL, and moved to this area in the early 1960's from Milwaukee. She married H. James Wiedner on May 5, 1956, in Davenport, Iowa. Audrey was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, where she served on the Bereavement Committee and was a Minister of Communion. A graduate of the St. Ambrose School of Nursing in Iowa she was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Zion Clinic for many years. Audrey was an active volunteer, serving with the Zion Women's Club, Friends of the Z-B Library, and the Our Lady of Humility School Board. An avid reader, she also enjoyed cross stitching , walking, gardening , and traveling. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jim Wiedner; children, Janel (West) Jacobs of Trevor, WI, Lisa (Allen) Chiappetta of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Michael (Asiya) Wiedner of Zion, IL, Therese Andrew of Zion, IL, and Amy (Ray) Jordan of Winthrop Harbor, IL; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Adam, and Lynette Chiappetta, Brian and Amanda Andrew, Courtney Jacobs, and Geoffrey and Kenna Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Xavier Jacobs and Dominic Chiappetta; brothers, Arlen Johnson of GA, and Gary (Karen) Johnson of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Viola Johnson; son, Patrick James Wiedner; sisters, Sharon O'Keefe and Jacquie Johnson; and grandsons, Brandon and Kyle Andrew. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, IL. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Helping Hands of Our Lady of Humility Church.
