Obituary of Michael Lilla
Michael Lawrence Lilla (Mickey) Age 61 of Beach Park, IL, left this earth on May 28th 2011 from the comfort of his home to receive his new legs and a pain free body. He was born in Sheboygan, WI, on April 12th, 1950 to Margaret (Peggy) E. McAllinster and Lawrence M. Brown. He attended schools in both Sheboygan and Kohler and later moved to Illinois to continue his education at Wauconda High School and graduated from Zion Benton High school in 1968. Mickey was known for his diversity, creativity and uniqueness which was evident in his wood carvings, leather tooling and jewelry making. Music was a true passion for him as he sang with a local band as well as playing the guitar and harmonica. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and he also enjoyed fishing and riding his custom hand driven-bicycle. His greatest passion was his love for Christ. He was an avid biblical scholar, he ministered and counseled many people that enabled them to be saved and follow Christ. He was a devoted and hard-working employee for the Chrysler Company for 21 years retiring Feb 2004. Mickey is survived by his children, Katrina (Ricardo) Chapa of Mount Pleasant, WI, Karen E. Lilla of Kenosha, WI, 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great grandchild from Kenosha, WI, his mother Margaret (Peggy) E. McAllinster of Kenosha, WI, brothers and sisters: Robin Sue Blanton of Zion, IL, David A Brown of Seattle, WA, Jody R. Lilla of Waukegan, IL and Daniel J. (Alice) Lilla Salem, WI, along with a multitude of loving nieces and nephews. A small funeral service will be held on June 6, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the First Assembly of God church located at 10700 75th street, Kenosha, WI, 53142 given by Pastor Kevin Taylor. Mickey was an extremely generous and loving man willing to help others from their difficult circumstances. As an organ donor, his death helped to benefit 25 people. In the true essence, he sincerely loved his family. Any memorial donation may be given in the name of Mickey's 3 year old nephew, Ehrren Gillespie, who is currently battling cancer at St. Jude Hospital, Memphis TN. Mickey will be missed terribly.
