Obituary of Zadie Hamm

Zadie M. Hamm, 88, of Zion, IL passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. Zadie was born January 10, 1923 in Red Bay, Alabama and came to Zion in 1951. She worked at Warwick Electronics in Zion and retired from Johnson Motors in Waukegan. The love of her life was always her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her greatest joy was having all of the family together often. Survivors include her children James B. (Sandra) Hamm of Zion, IL, Margaret Hamm of Ashland, KY, and Rick (Donna) Hamm of Winthrop Harbor, IL; seven grandchildren Brian Hamm, Don Selsor, Maryann Hawkins, Randy Hawkins, Joe Fraley, Erin Hamm, and Rachel Hamm; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers Richard (Dorothy) Thorne of Steele, MO and Willard (Irene) Thorne of Central City, KY. She was preceded in death by her father Sidney Thorne and her mother Anna Sikes; and one brother Coy Thorne. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at DEATON FUNERAL HOME, 209 West Main Street, Belmont, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont, MS with interment following at Belmont Cemetery.
