Obituary of John Grabowski

John G. Grabowski, 76, of Beach Park, IL died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. John was born February 15, 1935 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He married Arlene Pietschman on November 7, 1970 in Waukegan. John retired from the United States Navy at Great Lakes and went on to work for Sara Lee and Culligan, both of Deerfield, retiring from both. He was also a member of Fleet Reserve. John was a hard working man and he loved animals. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Arlene; step-son, Jeffrey (Deborah) Love of Trevor, WI; step-daughter, April Love of Winthrop Harbor, IL; step-son, John (Deborah) Love Jr. of Zion, IL; step-daughter, Angela (Michael) Cardinal of Decatur, IL; and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Valeria Grabowski; and by one brother. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. John Love officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24th, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
