Obituary of Ora Lee Tyra

Ora Lee Tyra, 80, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at home. Ora Lee was born September 5, 1930 in Vina, Alabama and came to Zion in 1955. In 1953 he married Ruby Pharr of Vina, AL. Ora Lee retried from Ft. Sheridan. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two grandchildren, Tiffany Kries and Quincy Tyra; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Kenneth M. Tyra of Beach Park, IL; one sister, Rossie Turbyfill of Vina, AL; and many friends and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Lee Tyra in 2007; one infant son, Doughlas Lee Tyra in 1959; two sisters, Juanita Neal of Alexandria, LA and Gwen McClain of Jacksonville, FL; and his father and mother, John and Lester Tyra. A cemetery chapel service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL, with Pastor Michael Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Mausoleum.
