Obituary of Gudrun Grana

Gudrun L. Grana "Goodie" 88, of Waukegan, IL, died on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was born October 16, 1922 in Dalsland, Sweden, came to America at the age of 3 and has been a lifelong resident of Waukegan. On March 30, 1941 she married Ross A. Grana and together they raised three children and one granddaughter. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Unitt of Waukegan; her son, Ronald (Elizabeth) Grana of Waukegan; one granddaughter, Diana Zupkus of Wadsworth; three great-grandchildren who were the love of her life, Kimberly Unitt-Zupkus, Ashley Zupkus and Kara Zupkus all of Wadsworth; and one sister, Mildred Garrity of Libertyville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross A. Grana; one son, Donald Ross Grana; her parents, Esther and Karl Johanson; and two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond Johnson. A private family interment service will be held later at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Orphans Of The Storm Animal Shelter, 2200 Riverwoods Road, Riverwoods, IL have been suggested.
