Obituary of Joyce Proctor

Joyce M. Proctor, 81, of Beach Park, IL, formerly of Waukegan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Gurnee, IL. Joyce was born July 27, 1929, in Waukegan, IL, to Herman and Irene Kleinert. She graduated from Waukegan High School in 1947 and married Homer "Bud" Proctor on February 3, 1951, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Waukegan. (Now Immanuel Church in Gurnee) After high school she worked a short while for Johnson Motors and eventually retired from Waukegan East High School where she was employed as a secretary for the librarian. Joyce really enjoyed summer excursions to the family summer home in Edgerton, WI. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Homer "Bud" Proctor; children, Ted (Kim) Proctor of Grandwood Park, IL, Jerry (Sherry) Proctor of Athens, AL, and Susan (Randy) Liechty of Elm Grove, WI; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandra (Douglas) Peterson of Libertyville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Kleinert. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Missionary Church, 1415 27th St., Zion, with Pastor Doug Carlson, officiating. Interment will be private at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Grace Missionary Church.
