I would like to express my sincere condolences on the recent passing of your father. My Husband, Tom and our children (Will and Erin) also send their thoughts and prayers to you and your family at this difficult time. Although I didn't know your dad that well, on the half dozen or so times that I met with him over the years, I came to realize his great kindness and compassion towards his friends and family. And I do know that he was very highly respected throughout this community. You were truly fortunate to have a man such as your father in your life. As you know, it was not that long ago that my own mother passed away, so I have some idea of what you and your family are going through. No comfort is quite enough to replace the loss. Please pass my deepest sympathies on to your entire family. Very sincerely, Kathy Larsen Sivia

Mrs. Knobbe, Jay, Jan, Joe and Jim-I remember Mr. Knobbe fondly, having met him in 1974 as a fifth grader at Clark School with Jim. He was always very nice to me, soft-spoken, but yet had a very firm hand (especially when it came to Jim! Ha, ha!). I'm sure my love of snowmobiling came from your Arctic Cat family. May God's peace and comfort be with all of you during this time. Jon Podboy

Aunt Janet, Jay, Jan, Joe, Jim, spouses & families, our deepest sympathy for your loss. Words cannot describe the pain you all must feel. We are sorry that we are unable to attend the memorial service. My thoughts of Uncle Joe always include his genuine and contagious laughter. I appreciate that Uncle Joe was caring, kind and understanding, it meant alot to me while in Waukegan during Naval Training. I treasure the memories of my youth anxious and excited to visit the Knobbe Family in Carroll, Swan Lake, Dedham, Denison or where ever the get-together would be. Mom was so fond of Joe and respected and appreciated him. Janet, you & Joe made her so happy by including her on various road trips & vacations. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Tom & Diana Booth

Mrs Knobbe, you have my deepest condolence for your loss of Joe. I will forever remember you and Joe cooking us a great lunch at Bernard Chevrolet --never to complain how cold, hot, or wet it was, but, just to laugh with us and enjoy our short lunch time with us. It was always a pleasure to see Joe at that big BBQ--knowing would get a good lunch, a good laugh, and the insight on the next Cubs game. I think I can speak for all of us from the shop, we will miss him. Larry Hart

Jan, Jan, and Families: Marty and I are very sorry for your loss. I apologize we will not be able to attend, however I wanted to drop you a note. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. The notice in the paper was very lovely written, it was evident from the notice that Joe was quite a busy person, will be missed and was loved by all. Additionally I cannot begin to imagine the number of lives he touched by all his work in the community, and from the number of family and friends you all have reached out to over the course of the years. It has been a long time since I have seen either of you, and probably longer since you have seen Marty, but you are remembered. Deepest sympathies, Joan and Marty Grasswick
