Obituary of Roy Corris

Roy Corris, 90, of Russell, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at his home. Roy was born November 18, 1920, in Russell, IL, to John Corris Sr. and his wife, Grace. He lived all of his life in that house on the Corris property. Roy farmed all of his life and retired in the early 1990's. Survivors include his brother, Richard (Ella) Corris of Adams, WI; niece, Merrillyn Humphries of Hodges, AL; two nephews, John (Nita) Corris of Antioch, IL, and George (Dawn) Corris of Dalton, WI; and two sisters-in-law, Julia Corris of Dalton, WI, and Jean Corris of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Roy is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by mother and father; two sisters, Helen and Alice; and three brothers, Merrill, John, and George. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Newport Township, IL. Friend may greet the family on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
