Obituary of Martha Gonzalez

Martha R. Gonzalez, 79, of Zion, formerly of Waukegan, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Vista Medical Center East, in Waukegan, surrounded by all of her family. Martha was born June 20, 1931, in Pearsall, TX, and married Isaac Gonzalez in November of 1953 in Arkansas. She retired after about 15 years of employment as a worker at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, Martha loved all her family and enjoyed entertaining and cooking for them. Survivors include her husband, Isaac; children, Sonny (Loretta) Maldonado, Isaac Gonzalez Jr., Nancy (Charles) Dawson, Mary Ann Gonzalez, Robert Gonzalez, Hilda (Charles) Falk, Danny (Liz) Gonzalez, Henry (Janice) Gonzalez, Trini (Reisa) Gonzalez, Diane (Rick) Johnson, and Richard Gonzalez; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and other family. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Morgan; and son, Raymond Gonzalez. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010, from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Carl Kolb of Hillcrest Baptist Church of North Chicago, will officiate.
