Obituary of Percy Curtis

Curtis, Percy Jr. of Zion, Illinois, 6 year old son of Percy Curtis Sr. and Angela Fernandez-Curtis, died peacefully and surrounded by his family at home. He was born September 24, 2004 in Zion. Percy began his courageous battle with cancer at the young age of 7 months and earned his Angel wings on December 16, 2010. Besides his parents he is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Cinnamon, Tobias, Alicia, Jaddus and Zhariya; paternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Mary Bell of Park City, Illinois; maternal grandparents Paul and Cindy Fernandez of Waukegan, Illinois; great-grandparents, Henry and Thelma McMath of North Chicago; a host of family and friends; and his very special friends at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, including staff and fellow cancer warriors. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 noon, Pastor Mark McCorley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, donations to Percy Curtis Jr. Fund, P.O.Box 212, Zion, Illinois 60099 have been suggested.
