Obituary of Phyllis Johnson

Johnson, Phyllis D. 86, of Waukegan, IL and formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Terrace Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. Phyllis was bom September 6, 1924, in Lineville, Iowa, was retired from the DMACC Iowa Education Association where she worked as an executive assistant. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Phyllis loved sewing and quilting; gardening when able, reading, and traveling and camping. Survivors include her daughters, Michele (Dean) Johannsen of Blue Grass, Iowa, Judith (Ronald) Reasoner ofDavenport, Iowa, and Debra (Timothy) McGrail of Waukegan, IL; grandchildren, Robyn Johannsen, Scott Johannsen, Jill Claeys, Randall (Marlo), Eric (Katie), and Christopher Reasoner; Sean (Cara) McGrail, and Hayley (Andrew) Swift; great-grandchildren; Joshua, Caleb, Jarrett, Maranda, Shawna, Drew, and Zack; sisters, Betty Raney and Bonnie Leonard, both of Davenport, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Omar Johnson; special friend, Richard Campbell; sister, Elenor Nelson; brother, Dean Elsey; brothers-in-law, Art Raney, Ray Leonard, and Fernald Nelson, and sister-in-law, Betty Elsey. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake County Baptist Temple, 1550 Yorkhouse Rd., Waukegan. Memorial donations are suggested to Lambs Farm, 14245 W.
