Obituary of Joseph Krpan

Joseph "Joe" Krpan, 83, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Vista Medical Center East with his family by his side. Joe was born March 15, 1927 in Sv.Rok, Croatia and immigrated to the United States in 1966. He was very proud of his adopted country but never forgot his family and friends back home. Joe was employed by Abbott Labs for 22 years, retiring in 1989. Joe is survived by his children, John (Liz) Krpan, Mary (Don) Daisy, and Mark Krpan all of Winthrop Harbor; daughter-in-law, Kim Krpan of Canada; grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Krpan, Chris (Cassie) Daisy, Tim (Emma) Daisy, Jill Daisy, Jennifer (Eddy) Spelic, Brian Krpan, Dianne Krpan and Gabriel Krpan; three great-grandchildren; one special twin sister, Mary Spaeth of Zion; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in the USA, Croatia and Canada. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary, in 2004; one son, Loui in 2005; two brothers, John and Mark Krpan; and his parents, Luka and Stella Krpan. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Friday, October 29, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at The CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois.
