Obituary of Ethel Shumate

Ethel Shumate, 88, of Gurnee, Illinois, died on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Winchester House in Libertyville, Illinois. Ethel was born February 28, 1922 in Jim Falls, Wisconsin and had lived in Gurnee most of her life where she was a member of Gurnee Community Church. Survivors include her children, Pamela (Tom) Rogge of Fox Lake, Illinois, Pearl (James) Vanderhoef of Cazenovia, Wisconsin, Wayne (Yvonne) Shumate of Woodland Park, Colorado, Terry Shumate of Union Grove, Wisconsin, Jeff Shumate of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Diana Shumate of Lyons, Wisconsin and Debri Smith of Union Grove, Wisconsin; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon in 1970; her son, Michael Shumate in 1982; twelve siblings; and her parents, Alvin and Ada Nichols. Services were private for the family with interment at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
