My daughter Dawn and I last saw Oliver at my mothers funeral some time ago.He was alway's so good at conversation and telling stories of his and Olga's last visit to Homosassa, Fl to see my folks.He was such a loving husband and good friend ,he will be missed.

I met Oliver in 1964 when I began working at Consumers Cooperative Credit Union. He had been a member of Consumers long before I came on board. Although I was new on the job he treated me kindly and with respect. Through the years we did quite a lot of business together that was mutually beneficial. There was never a time when I felt I had to question Oliver's integrity. His word was indeed his bond. No doubt his children and grandchildren were very proud of Oliver and Olga. The death notice the family posted was among the finest I've ever read. It outlined a long life by telling a story of two people much in love who worked together to help each other succeed. In my mind they did an excellent job of doing just that. My deepest sympathy to everyone in the Manninen family. I would have attended Oliver's funeral service had it not been for a family emergency. Please know that I will always hold Oliver Manninen in highest regard and think of him with my deepest respect. Bill Reidel

So sorry to hear of your loss of this great and knowledgeable man that I've have known. I first met him through my grandparents, Bill and Ilma Van Treeck. He always held my interest with his stories, humor and great out look on life. Heaven has just received one tough Finn.

I was so sorry to hear about Oliver's passing. I have gotten to know Oliver over the past couple years being a Meals on Wheels volunteer. Last December, my friend and I surprised him with a cake on his 96th birthday. He always was talking about his wife and showed me her picture often. He loved talking about current news, about Finland, and about dancing and how much he missed it. I'm sure he is dancing now. One time I was in the house for so long that my friend, waiting in the car for me, thought something had happened--Oliver liked to talk and it was difficult to say good-bye to him. I'll miss him.
