Obituary of Ana Tavarez

Ana Tavarez, 77, a long time resident of North Chicago, IL, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Ana was born August 16, 1932, in the Dominican Republic. Ana was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She had a fond love of all her family and an appreciation of flowers. Survivors include her children, Rafael (Margarita) Tavarez of N.Y., Cristina Tavarez of Waukegan, Elba Tavarez of Waukegan, Ramon (Myriam) Tavarez of Waukegan, and Camillia (Eugene) Head of TX; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Andrea Gonzalez of Rhode Island; brothers, Gaspar (Aris) Gonzalez of Waukegan and Ramon Gonzalez of Boston, Mass; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan Tavarez in June of 2008; sisters, Emilia, Luz, Bartola, and Pura; and father and mother, Felix and Ana Gonzalez. Visitation will be Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Blessed Trinity Church, (Immaculate Conception), 508 Grand Ave., Waukegan. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
