Obituary of Amelia Rybicki

Amelia S. Rybicki (Emily) Amelia S. (Emily) Rybicki, 92, of Beach Park died in her home on June 13, 2010. She was born Amelia Sikora on July 12, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois. She is survived by her son John A. (Theresa) Rybicki of Fayetteville, TN and his family. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Emily Sikora; two nieces, Sandy and Fran; and nephew Michael Sikora and his family. Emily was preceded in death by her parents Adalbert and Lucie Sikora of Chicago. She was also preceded in death by her two beloved brothers, Michael Sikora and Joseph Sikora. She was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. Emily worked 27 years at Johnson Outboards (OMC) in Waukegan and retired in 1983. She was an organizer of the travel club there and made many good friends and travel companions. Only after retiring did she take up painting and she was prolific. She was also active at a senior center in Waukegan. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment services will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 1:00p.m. at Ascension Cemetery Chapel in Libertyville.
