Obituary of Clifford Swanson

Clifford Kent Swanson, 64, of Pineville, Missouri, was called to heaven with his loving wife by his side, on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at his residence. Clifford was born December 23, 1945, in Zion, IL, to the late Clifford and Beulah (Stried) Swanson. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Young on October 23, 1978, in Shelby County, Tennessee. Clifford moved to Pineville, MO, six years ago from Waupaca, Wisconsin. He was a manufacturing engineer for Outboard Marine in Waukegan and for Superior Industry in Rogers, Arkansas. Clifford enjoyed fishing, gold prospecting and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kimberly. Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary Ann; son, Steven King of Fayetteville, North Carolina; daughter, Melissa Kanches of Dixon, Illinois; sister, Linda Saunders of Queen Creek, Arizona; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Jared, Cherish, Trevor and Chail; several nieces, nephews, cousins; along with many other, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Clifford. Visitation will be Thursday, April 1, 2010, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
