Obituary of Charles Zickovich

Charles "Chuck" Zickovich, 71, of Zion, IL died on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Grove At The Lake in Zion. Chuck was born June 8, 1940 in Chicago and moved to Zion in 1971. He retired from Johns-Manville in Waukegan. After retirement he drove bus for Jones-Durham Transportation and more recently for Olson Transportation. Chuck was an avid bowler. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Diane; children Bill (Liz) Zickovich, Jim Zickovich, and Ken Zickovich all of Zion, IL; six grandchildren Justin, Debbie, Moriah, Kim, Danielle, and Chris; four great-grandchildren; one sister JoAnn (Mitchell) Drexler of Highland Park, IL; and his brother-in-law Edward Soukup of Tinley Park, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother Violet Strunk; one son John Paul Zickovich; one grand-daughter Jennifer Zickovich; and one sister Alice Soukup. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with private cremation to follow. Memorial donations to American Cancer Society have been suggested.
