Obituary of Sandra Fairbanks

Sandra M. "Sandy" Fairbanks, 65, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at St . Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha surrounded by her family. Sandy was born January 13, 1945, in White Earth, Minnesota, and married Charles R. Fairbanks in March of 1966 in Waukegan. She was retired from Rexam in Mundelein, IL. She enjoyed camping trips to Door County, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Charles; IL; children, William (Lisa) Fairbanks, Nancy Fairbanks, Douglas Fairbanks, Michelle (Jim Caldwell) Fairbanks, all of Winthrop Harbor, and Mark Fairbanks of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Jacob, Elijah, and Rachael Fairbanks; sister, Cheryl Rehm of Kenosha, WI; brother, Raymond Matthews of Kenosha, WI; and numerous nieces ,nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rebecca Matthews; brothers, Butch and Frank Matthews; and sister, Karen Ladewig.. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Reception for family and friends will follow the memorial service at the Community Center in Winthrop Harbor, 1520 7th St.
