On behalf of Rachel Yarbrough, please accept our heartfelt condolences. I am sorry that we did not get to see your mom in this past year as I had hoped. My mom thought the world of each of you, but she is having problems with Alzheimer's, so please forgive us. Your mom/grandmother was a genuine caring person, and I know you will miss her a great deal. Love, Dianne Yarbrough Cottrill for Rachel

Yes, Grandma Stried is indeed going from mansion to mansion, still blessing everyone with her gifted and unique sense of humor. My sister and I have often wondered if she acquired such a special humor while attempting to teach our Sunday School Class. It certainly required much prayer, patience, and a lot of humor! My fondest memories are of that same Sunday School Class during our adolescent/teen-age years when we were so impressionable. Mildred Stried's influence upon our lives will always be evident. She was an extremely unselfish person and sacrificed her time and money to take our class of 4 girls to her cabin in Wisconsin. The rest will go unmentioned... While it has been 40 years, give or take some, those times are fresh in my mind and in my heart. She was always there if anyone needed her; a very self-sacrificing lady. What an impact we would have on this world if we all left such a legacy. Blessings to Mildred's family.

Gramma Stried was such a loving person I had ever seen on this earth. God had used her as his eternal light shining to others. Our Mom's Mother had died very young, before we were born, so Gramma Stried became our Gramma as she had poured out her heart to our family. We never called her anything different but Gramma Stried, or Gram's. She had been a blessing to all those who had known her! She was such a hoot that I remember laughing continuously on many visits. She always asked when I was going to get tired of living in California and get back to Zion! She had always been concerned for our well being and state of life. Along Side Corrie Ten Boom, I can picture Gramma Stried! She was an amazing woman and God's love shown through her! And So we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is Love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what god has prepared for those who love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 We imagine that She is going from Mansion to mansion in Heaven. My Aunt Ruth had said that to me! Her work is being done in heaven too! WE love you Grams, Love Joie and Mark and Jacquie and Nathan

We would like to express our sympathies and condolences to the family of Mildred Stried. We have memories of Mildred attending our Dads 80th birthday and really getting acquainted with her there. Our dad was Wilber Friend and we live in California. We thank Betty for letting us know of her homegoing. What a special lady. She is a cousin of ours and my dad. Blessings from Ken and Pat(Fiend) Larsen

I was blessed to be a niece of Mildred Stried. Although this day we knew was coming, it is still very sad to think that she is no longer with us. To my cousins, Betty & Donna, her daughters, I weep with you as well as with the whole family. She is with Jesus and now reunited with many loved ones who have gone on before her, especially her sisters Muriel and Myrtle (we called them the Three M's). Just knowing she is no longer suffering, is cause to be thankful. "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus we'll sing and shout the victory." R.I.P. Aunt Mildred.
