Thank you, Doug, for being such a great teacher. Your life is a lesson for the rest of us in how to be kind, humble, and gentle...and how to smile. I just listened to Judy Collins singing "In My Life" about 15 times...and, with tears streaming down my cheeks, thought of 100 wonderful memories of you, Uncle Chet, Auntie Marg, and my own Mom and Dad. And, oh yeah, if there are Piggly Wigglys in heaven, we'll be just about due for one more shopping mission...I'll navigate and you can drive, as usual.

I lived next door to the Koss family while attending Shimer College in the late 1980s. Many mornings I witnessed the famous and intricate Koss Car Shuffle. I will never forget how "Mr. Koss" always had a wave and shy smile when we passed. Deepest sympathies to Beth, Amy, Sally, David and all who will miss this kind man. Nora Storment Allred

I was a loyal customer for many years at the Bob and Doug Koss Service Station in Waukegan. When they moved their services to the garage on Sunset I followed them there as well. I knew them both to be men of deep honesty and integrity. I am aware that Bob passed away a few years ago, and now his brother Doug has followed. I want the family to know that in my experience, Doug was a kind and caring man; a person who treated his customers with respect. It was always a pleasure to do business with him. May God give peace and comfort to the family in this time of grief.
