Obituary of Mary Kennedy

Mary E. Hafford Kennedy, 83, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois died on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Mary was born August 2, 1926 in Eldorado, Illinois and moved to Winthrop Harbor in 1947. She retired from Johns-Manville in Waukegan after 25 years. She was also Past President (1972-1973) of Winthrop Harbor V.F.W. Post 7448 Ladies Auxiliary and she currently loved being Grandma. Survivors include her children, Donna (Bill) Stried of Winthrop Harbor, Marvin LeRoy (Billie) Hafford of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Carol Tennyson of Winthrop Harbor; two grandchildren, Tom (Kimberly) Tennyson of Zion and Travis (Shanna) Tennyson of Kenosha, Wisconsin; four great-grandchildren, Dakoda Tennyson, Gared Tennyson, Alexis Tennyson and Don Taft; siblings, George Junior Dodd, Wanda Lawrence and Bobby Dodd all of Beach Park; and many loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Hafford; her second husband, Marshall Kennedy; and her parents, George and Goldie Dodd. Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Corley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Star Hospice.
