My deepest sympathies to the Beem family. Bernie was a wonderful kind hearted person. I remember Bernie from my early childhood when I used to go to Whiteman and Fry with my Dad "Pinky Klammer" in the K-Ze-K truck. As I grew older I had a great appreciated for Bernie, he was a kind man and always greeted me with a warm genuine smile and heart felt welcome. I will truly miss him, but his smile and kindness will always remain in our hearts to cherish. Sincerely, Todd

Dear Van and Family -- From the time we first worked together in the music ministry of CCC, all of you have held a special place in our hearts. Horst and I are grateful for the years of friendship and the many happy memories of Bernie. He was a man of integrity, loved his family and his Lord, and was a fine director with that beautiful tenor voice. Just imagine how even more beautiful it is now as he sings in the heavenly choir! God watch over and bless each one of you in the days ahead. With love, Kathy

Vicki, So sorry to read about the loss of your father, exactly two years to the date of when my mother passed away. A loss is difficult at any time, but at this time of year is especially difficult. I know your sorrow. May peace be with you and all of your family. What a wonderful man he is - not was - he will always be alive in your heart. Eileen Flaherty Whitmire

So sorry to hear that Bernie has crossed over. I will miss my visits with my Dad, Bernie and Vannie each year when Father would visit me. Growing up the Beem's always seemed like part of the family. I am sure my Mom and Dad will welcome him at the pearly gates. God speed Bernie and God Bless Vannie and the kids.

I remember Bernie as a big smile and a warm voice. I always enjoyed hearing him sing. He raised a fine family and I am sure you will miss him. Perhaps he and Loren Leach are singing in heaven and my dad, Wendell, is enjoying the blend of voices. Take care.

Surprised and saddened to lose Bernie at such a time of the year. I enjoyed playing golf with Bernie a few times and was always cheered by his company. A special thanks from the Westminster Choir of First Presbyterian Church of Waukegan for Bernie's contributions to the music program there, especially the wonderful piano he donated that sits in the choir practice room. Bernie will be missed by many.
